How do you pick the right cork for a project?
Match the form to the job. Thin sheets (1-2mm) and self-adhesive cork suit jewelry backings, drawer liners and bottle-cap coasters; medium stock (3-6mm) holds up as trivets, bulletin boards and journal covers; thick blocks and 1/4" tiles work for pin walls and stamp-mount bases. Cork fabric (cork "leather") laminated to a cloth backing sews and laser-cuts cleanly for wallets, earrings and bag panels. Mind the grain: fine-grain, low-porosity cork sands smooth and laser-engraves with crisp edges, while rustic large-grain bark reads more natural. Rolls usually run 12"-24" wide; sheets come in A4, 12x12 and 12x24. Expect roughly $8-$20 for a sheet pack, $15-$40 for fabric cuts, and $25-$60 for bark slabs. Many makers ship flat-packed in 2-5 business days; pre-cut custom shapes add about a week.
Use the thickness, form (sheet, roll, fabric, block) and adhesive-backing filters, plus the related searches, to land on the exact cork stock your build needs.
