How do you choose the right mold for your craft?
Match the mold material to what you are casting before anything else. Platinum-cure (food-grade) silicone releases resin, soap, wax, plaster, and chocolate cleanly and survives hundreds of pours; tin-cure silicone costs less but breaks down faster under curing epoxy. Want crisp candy or fondant detail? Reach for polycarbonate or finely cut silicone. For pillar candles and concrete planters, makers usually offer harder two-part molds with reinforced walls. Always check the listed cavity depth and volume in milliliters so a coaster, bookmark, or tray comes out the size you pictured. Stock designs from most makers ship in 3-7 business days, while custom or made-to-order molds run 1-3 weeks. Before you buy, ask about Shore hardness, demold time, and whether the mold shrugs off heat from hot wax or an exothermic resin cure.
Use the filters for material, craft type, and cavity count, and the related searches to jump to a specific mold shape.
