How do you pick a watch band that fits and lasts?
Every band lives or dies on lug width, so measure the gap between your lugs in millimeters first. Common sizes run 16mm, 18mm, 20mm, and 22mm; sport and diver cases go up to 24mm. From there it's about material and feel. Full-grain leather ($15-$45) breaks in soft and suits dress watches; Horween Chromexcel and shell cordovan sit at the top end. Silicone and FKM rubber ($10-$30) shrug off sweat and pool water. NATO and seatbelt-nylon straps ($8-$25) are pass-through, nearly impossible to drop, and swap in seconds. Milanese mesh and oyster-style steel bracelets ($20-$70) dress a watch up. Look for quick-release spring bars so you can change straps without a tool, stitched keeper loops on leather, and listed total length plus taper (e.g. 20mm/16mm) so the buckle end fits your existing hardware.
Filter by lug width and material first, then use the related searches to find quick-release, NATO, or curved-end fits for specific watch models.
