How do you choose a sleeve or case for a record collection?
Match the storage to the format and the threat you're guarding against. For vinyl, inner sleeves do the real work: anti-static poly-lined or rice-paper inners ($8-$20 for a 25-pack) stop micro-scratches, while outer poly or PVC jackets (3-5 mil, $10-$25) protect the cardboard cover. For display and transport, felt- or foam-lined LP carry cases and slipmats run $35-$120. Cassette collectors look for hinged Norelco-style cases and printed J-cards; CD fans want slim jewel cases, Digipak-style folders, or zip wallets. Standard sizing matters: a 12-inch LP sleeve won't fit a 7-inch single, and a double-LP gatefold needs a wider jacket. Many printed J-cards and sleeves ship in 3-7 business days; engraved wood crates and custom-cut leather cases need 1-2 weeks. Before ordering, confirm format (LP, 7-inch, 45, cassette, CD), spine width, and any name or album-art personalization fields.
