How do you pick a comfortable, well-made cloth mask?
Three things decide whether a fabric mask actually gets worn: the mask itself, something so it does not get lost, and something to take pressure off your ears. On coverings, check layer count (most quality cloth masks use two to three cotton layers), a nose wire or pleated/contoured shape for fit, and an adjustable ear loop or toggle. Liberty-print, double-gauze, and quilting-cotton masks are common, often $10-$28; sets of three or four run $24-$60. Mask lanyards and chains keep a mask around the neck between uses, with beaded, chain-link, and cord styles around $8-$22, and many double as eyeglass chains. Ear savers (silicone or 3D-printed bands, button headbands, crocheted extenders) relieve sore ears for glasses-wearers and long-shift workers, usually $4-$12. Many makers ship plain styles in 3-7 business days; monogrammed or custom-fabric orders take 1-3 weeks.
Use the filters to sort by accessory type, fabric, and closure style, and check the related searches to jump to lanyards, coverings, or ear savers.
